  • What is Semaglutide (GLP-1)?
GLP-1 (Glucago like peptide) is a hormone your body natural makes. GLP-1 is released after you eat to make you feel full. GLP-1 also works to slow down the stomach from emptying to prevent you from eating more food. Semaglutide works by mimicking the actions of GLP-1, therefore you feel full longer and do not feel as hungry. In addition, Semaglutide works by activating GLP-1 receptors in the pancreas, resulting in the production and release of insulin, a hormone that helps the body to use glucose for energy. Semaglutide also helps to reduce the amount of glucose produced by the liver. Semaglutide is approved for weight loss management in men and women who qualify. Semaglutide is usually given as a small subcutaneous injection once a week in the belly fat. It has been shown to be very effective in weight loss and continued weight management.
